METHUEN — Fawzi E. Ash, 25, of Methuen, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008.

Fawzi was born and educated in Methuen and was a 2000 graduate of Methuen High School. He was the son of Ibrahim F. and Majdoline (Khalil) Ash of Methuen and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Melkite Catholic Church in Lawrence.

Music was Fawzi's life. He played guitar, keyboard and the harmonica. He also enjoyed hiking and camping. Fawzi was a student of the Town of Methuen's history. He visited the Searle's Estate and the Methuen Organ Hall. He also researched Methuen residents who fought in the U.S. Revolution.

Fawzi studied the history of Bath, England, the residence of his namesake and paternal grandparents. He was employed at VLV Professional in Salem.

He is survived by his parents, Ibrahim F. and Majdoline (Khalil) Ash of Methuen. Sisters, Suzan and Myrna Ash of Methuen. Paternal grandparents, Fawzi and Noha Ash of Bath, England. Maternal grandparents, Elias Khalil who called Fawzi his "bodyguard" and his wife Mahassen of Lawrence. Maternal uncles, Fahed, Chebl and Ramsis Khalil. Maternal aunt Reda Khoueiri of Amawalk, N.Y. He is also survived by cousins and maternal uncle Nadim and Melhem.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Melkite Catholic Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Methuen. Friends may call Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. at Farrah Funeral Home, 133 Lawrence St., Lawrence.
