METHUEN — The MSPCA at Nevins Farm is holding a tack sale this weekend to benefit its Equine Center.
New and gently used horse equipment will be sold and children have organized a bake sale, all to raise money for the horses and farm animals.
Lisa MacMillen of Derry, N.H., owner of the Mariah B, Farm equine boarding facility, will be selling her line of "equine" soy candles, with a portion of the proceeds going to the center. MacMillen's horse, Mariah B, was one of Nevins Farm's first Equine Ambulance clients more than a decade ago when the animal suffered a traumatic eye injury and needed emergency transport. Mariah B, who recovered and lived a full life, died in July. MacMillen's donation will be her tribute to Mariah.
The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is at 400 Broadway in Methuen.
