I was just wondering since we did not have a 5 year reunion, if anyone knew of any plans for a 10????? I would love to see everyone and 2006 is creeping up on us. Would Dayo be in charge of that? I figure if we start discussing now we can spread the word. Hopefully we could put something together.
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Yeah our 5 year was a flop!
I would love to see everyone too!! I mean this site is great...but i would love see everyone in person I think that Dayo would be in charge of it. If i remember correctly though i received a letter from Laura Sanderson for our 5 year that no one attended. SO i am not sure. Maybe we can put the fire under someone's butt to head it up.

Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Many people didn't even KNOW we had a 5 year reunion. I think it was kind of a word of mouth thing.
Anyhow, I really would love one as well! I don't know who is "technically" supposed to run/set up a reunion, but I wouldn't mind doing it (with Tim's help of course!) if it gets close and looks like no one else is jumping on it.
We'll see I guess!
Stacy
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
I've been in touch with Laura Abraham, and she has told me that the 5 year was a bust due to lack of interest and her phone list wasnt the best.
The 10 year is going to go a little better, and I volunteered to help call people and update the phone list for her and the crew setting it up.
So hopefully, this will go better cause I want to go this time!
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
I know myself and a few others are interested in the 10 year reunion. I found out about the 5 year about a year later. I have moved since high school, so hopefully if there is any info, we can be contacted through this site.
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Laura Sanderson and I sent out hundreds of mailings for the 5 year, twice. We got half of them returned to us. The only address list we had was from 1996. Unfortunately, many have moved since then.
JV offered to help get in contact with many of our classmates (thanks JV), but all of your assistance would be greatly appreciated. It's too bad Methuen doesn't have an alumni association...anyone that wants to plan the reunion, that would be great...I don't think anyone is in charge of planning, we just took the reigns last time because we both still lived in Methuen. I'm more than happy to give up some control!
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
I agree Laura...there should be some sort of database for MHS where you can always go and update your info if anyone wants to contact you. However, now we have this site so maybe it'll be a little more sucessful!

Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
If anyone is a "Gold" member at classmates you get access to the email addresses of folks that have registered there. (I myself am not a "gold" member)That might give you better contacts. Also, if you yourself are registered at classmates, you can post announcements and if you want can post an announcement directing people to this site to find out more. Hope that helps.
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
okay, now that the class of 95 10-year reunion is over, when is the planning for the class of 96 reunion going to begin? i need to know in advance so i can make travel arrangement and request time off from work.
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
We need to post a survey for best dates. Do we want Spring, Summer or Fall? We could hold it near homecoming and include the homecoming game as part of the event. That way those that are traveling can make the most of their visit.
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
i agree. my new employer wants us to have all our vacations scheduled for the next year so i need to know ASAP when our reunion is! i vote for either summer or fall. thanksgiving time would have been great but i just found out i can't take any extra time off.
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
I will be honest... whatever works for everyone else. I am just excited to see everyone!
:)
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Well though I'll barely remember anyone (and probably vice versa), I'd probably still go. I only live in Boston so whenever is good for me
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
My vote for the 10-year reunion is for the fall of 2006 as well. If anyone is interested in planning the reunion, I give up full control. Though I can't speak for my fellow officers, I doubt Laura, Dayo and Erin would object. Let me know if you want to plan the reunion and we'll make sure you get the 1996 account information.
I think the first step is to get updated information...our list is now 10 years old! 8)
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
I volunteer to help out if needed. I'm sure I can speak for Dan too. Just let us know on the site. We have also moved a few times in the last 10 years and neither of us got any notice of the 5 year, even at our parents' addresses.
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
We sent out notices for the 5-year reunion in the summer of 2001, then again in the fall of 2001. They should have been received at the address you listed when you graduated from Methuen High.
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Ok, so time is ticking and I know we said we would step up before so here we are... Tim and I will plan the reunion. I certainly welcome your help Michelle (and Dan) and will definitely be in touch about this. JV, I know you had wanted to take part too so let me know if you are still interested!
Here is where we will start: If you (or anyone you know is) are from the class of 96 please (tell them to) email me at
Email me your current mailing address.
We will also need the account info from you Laura so if you get a chance would you be able to fax it to Tim at work at some point? I will email you and get it worked out.
We will post more info/surveys/questions soon, but here is at least a start.
I hope this isn't stepping on toes by volunteering...
More to come!
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Thank you for being our party planner, Stacy & Tim! I'll be in touch via email with address and account information! :D
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
I am up for a good old party. I just need a timely response like some others that have responded my wife and I live Tucson, AZ and would need some advanced notice for travel arrangements. I am in I though 96 had a squared away group of officers, I guess not. Just thought I would drop a dime on Laura's times two Dayo just to name a few. I know that Jon Desrocher and Richie Barden would be my dates if my wife sold me out. Anyway thought I would throw something out there seeing I got stiffed on the 5 year. Just kidding don't take my harsh comments to heart.

Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Jessica Allen class of 96 - Hi everyone! I did a search to find out if there was anything going on for our 10 year reunion and found this site. I would help all I can with any kind of planning. I have a few addresses to add as well. I'm currently living with my fiance and kids in Dracut :headbang:
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Any movement on this one? Jeff Cadieux and I were talking about this yesterday and I began to wonder.
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Hey Everyone,
How is everyone? If there is anything I can do for the reunion Let me know.
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
hello my name is jason herra, and i discovered this site ten minutes ago. This is a really cool site. Oh, by the way it would be a great idea to have a ten year reunion but after receiving 10,000 pieces of papers in the mail 5 years ago, I somehow had a feeling that the five year reunion would not happen. Cheers to all have a happy summer. Which is really about to last from now to first week of september.
p.s. congrats to J.V. on the baby hope to hear from you soon
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Hi all,
Hope everyone is well! We are still planning the reunion and have had SO many responses from 96 grads. To all those who emailed me personally and I have yet to reply... please know that I did get your emails and I have noted your new address, etc. I tried to reply to each and every person and then there were so many that I became overwhelmed! So, again, if I have not replied forgive me and know you are not forgotten!
We are looking to book a place on the Saturday after Thanksgiving hopefully from 7pm till 11pm. We are looking into places right now and are hoping to find a good one that is not booked. I am waiting to go see the new function hall at Sal's Resturant in Lawrence. Anyone have any clue what it is like?
If anyone has had a good experience with a dj (at your wedding, etc.) and thinks they would be good at the reunion let me know! I am looking for someone who won't blare music - as we would like to actually hear each other talk (lol)!
We will finalize a date and a hall within the month of July and let you all know!
Cheers,
Stacy (and Tim)
If anyone has any other ideas or suggestions please let us know! We have not forgotten and are still planning and cannot wait to see you all!
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Is the date set? Or can it still be changed? Even though I would love to come home for Thanksgiving, it's not possible with family and work. Besides, if I'm coming home for Thanksgiving, I would like to spend the entire time with my family not at the reunion.
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
The reunion is from 2-3 hours max, so if you can make it, you should just go.
If it helps, bring a family member with you.
:)
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
for the reunion, heres an idea, two words, karaoke machine. just a thought.
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
I am not 100% sure I can attend but I will try. Stacy I will send out my new address so I know how to plan my holiday season. Just got hitched so I have no idea where I will be spending Thanksgiving (hopefully not in Iowa). Let me know, life is busy here in the Valley of the Sun (Arizona)! 8)
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Quick update:
I am meeting tomorrow at 1pm with the coordinator of Sal's Function hall. I will see how it goes and hopefully book it if it works out.
For anyone that reads this: Would you rather a buffet dinner or heavy hor
dourves? (No clue on the spelling there!) I am thinking hor'dourves because then we can move around and chat and there is no sitting at a table for hours. Agree?
I will report back after meeting tomorrow!
~Stace
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
I think we had a nice dinner. It seemed nicer to use it as a night out for those who have a spouse.
Dinner took all of about 30-45 at the most. Before that people were mingling and after that people were mingling and dancing (alcohol had kicked in).
:)
Hors d'ouvres would be nice too, and they should be cheaper as well.
By the way, not sure if you already are set with the place, but I just had a baby shower at the Roma Restaurant and it was a nice place, good food, and very economical (surprisingly so since the quality was so high).
I had a day event there, so I don't know how a night event would play out, but I would recommend it.
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Here's an update:
I went and saw Sal's. It is really nice and I am going to book it. Unfortunately, because of the fact that I just took over the planning, I don't have immediate access to the class funds. Sal's needs a room fee payment before they will book it officially for us. However, I have contacted the person who does have access and she and I are supposed to meet up tomorrow to "make the deal". LOL. (Should look shady enough... passing money off in a parking lot and all.) Anyhow, I then intend to go Tuesday and book the room officially for November 25th.... but don't make any travel plans until I am sure it is booked!
More to come on Tuesday night! Are you all getting excited? I am!
~Stace
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
It is official:
Saturday, November 25th, 2006
7-11pm
at Sal's Function Facility.
More to come soon - and official invites to be mailed in early October!
Hope all can make the date!

Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
I may be moving back to the Valley. If I do, I am in. If not, unfortunately my wife will be 38 weeks pregnant and I don't think I will feel comfortable leaving her alone.
Have fun either way y'all!
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
I'm in. I'm just scared I'll be alone in a corner since I barely remember anyone.
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Don't worry Yanira... we won't let that happen!!!!!!
Yay, so glad you are coming!
See you there!

Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Hello All, Unfortunately this date does not fit into the paramiter of my availability. I will be very busy trying to finish up the semester of school and will not be able to fly out for the event. I will be waiting for pictures to be posted so ya'll have fun and I'll see you at the 15 year!
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Open bar?
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Wade,
Although it is a nice idea, we definitely don't have enough in our class account to do that. I am trying to keep ticket prices low - especially since it is right around the holidays ($$$) and many people have to fly as well just to get here. Plus, I am also trying to keep some cash in the class account for upcoming reunions, etc. As it stands, we are probably going to use half of the funds in the account on just the room fee and the dj.
Maybe for the 20 year reunion that will be possible since we may all - hopefully - be able to afford higher ticket prices?
Anyone else have any input on this or other ideas?!
~Stacy
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
stace,
I like where Wade is going!! I mean, I agree that an open bar will be too costly, but there definitely needs to be some sort of "hook" to bring people in.
I have spoken to about 15 people from our class in different ways (net, in person, phone) and I keep hearing the same thing - "I don't really think I'm gonna go." Followed by "I just don't think I want to go hoping for the CHANCE that I will see people I actually liked/knew when in actuality there may be everyone I did NOT get along with there." And finally, "Those things are like $50 a ticket! I have kids to feed/a business to support/crack to buy. . ."
Now, I certainly didn't know everyone in our class, but I can certainly see the logic here. I too was thinking I was not going to go because I really only cared about a few folks and I have a daughter on the way. Then the more I thought about it, the more I realized I wanted to know more about the people I went to school with regardless of how well I knew them 10 years ago and hell, it would probably be fun.
SO, the point of this ramble is that I suggest the planning powers that be figure out:
1. How to make this event palatable enough to get people to attend
2. Let others know who is confirmed for a ticket in order to help them over that "uncertainty hump".
3. What's the hook? What's the gimmick? And finally, why should I spend money to go?
I know it sounds strange to have to market your school's own reunion, but let's face it; any time you want people to spend money on something, there needs to be a solid perceived value.
Just my $.02
:)
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Hey JV!
Ok guys, thanks so much for the imput! Keep it coming!
Now, one of your points, JV, is that the tickets for these things can get pricey, and so I have been trying to keep them at or around $30/ person. If we went ahead and did the open bar, your tickets would be substantially higher to account for the fact that I would not know how much alcohol is going to be consumed that night. Trust me, I think it is a nice idea, but I also think that you would save yourself $$$ by buying your own drinks vs. having to pay an extra $30 per ticket just to NOT have to pay for your own drinks! LOL. Am I making sense here? Please, if anyone knows more about this situation (pricing, etc) let me know!
Ok, as for the other ideas you had.... I LOVE the idea of letting others know who is coming to the reunion, etc. I am brainstorming ways to do that and one way that I know of is thru E-vite. There is, of course, also this website. Tim and I love your idea and we will find a way to do it! Any ideas or other methods anyone can think of?????
As for a draw to get people to come.... Stacy Parker will be there. Not enough of a draw??? LOL, jk. Ok, I think that also goes along with that previous idea. I think maybe getting a website started or something of the sort will make people get more excited/anticipate it more.
Finally, this is a class reunion and - ultimately - the "hook" is too see others that you have not seen in a while, see those you thought you'd never see again, and have a good time with people who "knew you when" and who shared a huge chunk of your life with you - be it good or bad. Although there will be drinks, and a dj, and some decor (think retro photos, etc.) the main "draw" and what I percieve to be the value is to just be there with all these people for a short 4 hours of your life and share what you are doing now, maybe get some addresses you wished you'd gotten years ago, laugh like mad, and have a great time reminiscing, catching up, etc.
So, we are trying like crazy to make this a great event and of course we want it to be a night everyone is talking about and wants to attend, and that is why we are asking for your advice, your input and mostly, mainly, we want you to attend! So, make the decision to come and tell your friends you are coming. I guaruntee that will persuade others come. No one wants to go alone or not know anyone going, so be the brave friend and buy a ticket. Then the others will follow!
More on that great idea of JV's (how to let people know who will be there) to come!!
Keep the ideas coming!!!!!

Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Lil update!!
Ok, people that I have talked to/heard from seem really excited and tell me they are definitely attending!
I am making another plea for people to contact me with any email addresses/mailing addresses of those they know graduated with us but may not visit this site.
Also, I am planning to have a tv/dvd player at the reunion to play the prom/ senior class play/class day dvds that we have (Tim burned them to dvd from the vhs). I also plan to have a yearbook there as well as a collage of pics from back in the day. So, if anyone has any pics PLEASE send them to me at .
I am also thinking of supplying small address books and a pen when you enter so you can gather addresses, etc. (I know.... using pen and paper is SO last decade!)
I am in the process of booking a dj (whew are they expensive!) and getting the invites printed and mailed (hoping to have them mailed by the third week in October). I also need to contact the Tribune and that community channel on cable tv for an announcement.
Any other ideas on how to make it a great night???
I really really hope everyone will come if they can!
More info to come!
~Stacy
Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
What about setting something up on myspace. I know the class of 97 already has one up to let people know about the reunion. If you want me to set it up I can. That way I can search for anyone that graduated in 96 and send them the info through there....let me know!!

Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Kathy,
Thanks so much! That idea was raised to me by a few people and I thought it was a great idea. I went and opened a myspace account and then tried to post something, but it told me I couldn't start a thread for 10 days after I signed up. Doh!
Honestly, I really have no clue how to use myspace, so if you want to make a thread, or whatever, I would be thrilled to have that help!
After you set it up let me know and I will visit it frequently to get info, give info as well.
Thanks so much Kathy!

Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
Ok - so I finally was able to get the class roster and last known addresses from the high school (whew - that thing is more heavily guarded than Fort Knox!).
I will be label making tonight and tomorrow and hoping to get them all in the mail by this weekend.
Please, please, please.... if you are a member here and you read this, please contact me with your current mailing address.
Thanks guys!

Re: 1996 10 year reunion????????
BTW.... highly disconcerting being in the high school after all this time. Definitely made me feel old!!!!
It looks great though, nice new mural on the wall when you enter, etc. Also saw Mr. Nick - he looks great!
