Anyway, it's bad nonetheless. I figure as a 13 year old, he thought he was willing to go that route, but the teacher should have known better.

I found the story I was talking about. I live in a town between these two citys they are talking about.

A female teacher who allegedly "married" a 14-year-old girl in a pagan ritual faces criminal-sexual conduct charges in Michigan.

Elizabeth Miklosovic, 36, of Grand Rapids faces a possible life sentence for her conduct with a former student at Baseline Middle School in South Haven, Mich., the Muskegon Chronicle reported.

"They also participated in witchcraft together," Detective Sgt. Dianne Oppenheim told the Michigan paper.

The Kent County Prosecutor's office issued warrants Thursday on first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct charges, alleging Miklosovic, a seventh-grade language-arts teacher, was involved in illegal sex acts with the student at the teacher's Grand Rapids home.

The girl's family initially believed Miklosovic was trying to help the girl, described as emotionally troubled, the Chronicle said.

But the girl's uncle, outraged, says the teacher "brainwashed" her into thinking their actions were OK.

"It's heartbreaking to know [you put] your trust, your faith in a teacher, and this is how it goes," the uncle said. "[The girl] doesn't think a crime's been committed. She's plainly been brainwashed by her teacher."

The girl told police of five sexual encounters from June to October, the Muskegon paper said.

Miklosovic has a "nontraditional family," a neighbor told the paper, living with another woman and their adopted son.

Local residents expressed their anger to the Chronicle.

"If you can't trust your kid's teacher, who can you trust?" asked Monica Thompson, 24. "It appalled me. I heard about it on the news last night. A kid and a grown woman?"

A recent graduate of local South Haven High School, Mallory Spencer, told the Chronicle, "It's getting kind of scary now. I have a lot of friends who teach there. ... I'm kind of numb. You hear about so much these days, nothing surprises me."

The Chronicle said Miklosovic, who has worked for the district three years, was highly regarded by staff and students and had no previous criminal record in Michigan.

On a lighter note on that subject. I heard some Jay Leno comments/jokes. I don't hink they are word for word but it's close.

-Tennessee was shocked this week when a female gym teacher had sex with her 13 year old student....they weren't even related. (laugh) No seriously. It's shocking alone just because most female gym teachers don't usually chase the little boys in their class.(laugh)

What I think is more interesting is that she got no jailtime.

I can't claim to know the exact details of the case, but this is what it looks like from here:

Well I thought that the judge would not agree to that arrangemnt because se was already convicted and sentenced somewhere else and saw it as overkill.

I can see where you are coming from.

I stand by my assessment however, part of your response states that the judge doesn't think a jury would convict and she would get off home free. The reason for this is not just gender, it's a combination of gender, age, race, and looks.

So I do agree with you because I think that if it reversed, if it was a 25 year old male teacher who had sex with a 14 year old girl, it would not have played out the same way.

Both of you are missing the most important part of this. Why didn't we have hot teachers like that????

MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. Jul 15, 2006 (AP)— A judge ignored a former teacher's sobbing pleas for mercy Friday and sentenced her to seven years in prison on charges that she sent explicit photos to a young teenager while on probation for having sex with him.

When Pamela Rogers, 29, was released after serving 198 days in jail, she was under orders not to contact the student or his family or use the Internet. But authorities say that even after appearing in court on a charge of violating her probation in April, she continued talking with the boy and sending him text messages and sexually explicit photos and video of herself.

"You have done everything except show this court that you wanted to rehabilitate yourself," Warren County Circuit Judge Bart Stanley said. He revoked Rogers' probation and ordered her to serve the rest of a seven-year prison sentence that had been largely suspended.

Officers led Rogers away after she stood before the judge handcuffed and shackled. She cried as she asked for mercy and apologized to her family, the teen's family, her relatives and friends.

"I have humiliated myself. What I did was wrong," Rogers said. "I am willing to do anything to rehabilitate myself."

Rogers, who has been in jail since April, presented evidence in a hearing Friday, including a clinical psychologist who said she was a sex addict. She apologized tearfully and was led away in handcuffs to a women's prison in Nashville.

Rogers worked as a physical education teacher at Centertown Elementary School, which the boy, now 14, attended.

She was first arrested in February 2005 and pleaded no contest to charges of statutory rape and sexual battery by an authority figure. Records in the case said she had intercourse and oral sex with the student.

A grand jury issued a new indictment against Rogers last week charging her with four counts of exploiting a minor. The judge set a Nov. 22 arraignment on those charges.

Rogers' mother asked the judge for leniency in a letter, saying a bad marriage had destabilized her daughter emotionally.

"No one would have done that if they were of normal mind," Karen Rogers wrote in the letter, obtained Friday by The Associated Press.

She said her daughter's ex-husband, Chris Turner, had subjected her to "mental, verbal and emotional abuse" and threatened to kill her. Turner's attorney Mike Galligan called the letter "the statements of a desperate mother."

Gee...looks to me like she dumped her husband for a 14 year old...
