I can't really say I had a favorite.

I liked a lot of them.

I had Mr. Brouder first year too. He taught me a lot more than English that's for sure.

He was hard to read, sometimes you'd think you had him in the palm of your hand (as we often do as teenagers) and then he'd totally flip the script.

Re: Mr. Brooder

I had Dean Brouder as my English Teacher back in 1977 which was my freshman year and he is a great teacher and I know him today out of school and he is a great guy.

Re: Mr. Brooder

Tell him to join up. I'd like to say hi and I'm sure others would as well!

Re: Mr. Brooder

Oh my god, I think he talked more about surfing than freaking english class. I hated his class.

Re: Mr. Brooder

I remember Mr. Brouder lamenting the loss of a student that drowned in a surfing accident - iirc, the student had told Mr. B. that he was going, and asked him along - he declined, and felt horrible after he had heard the news. This was in either 1996 or 1997 I think.

Re: Mr. Brooder

That was in 1995....Jong Choi......Great kid...

Re: Mr. Brooder

Wow it really was my freshman year? High school is way too much of a blur... He was in my algebra class when I took it in 8th grade.

Re: Mr. Brooder

Mr. Brouder has once again experienced another student tragedy with the death of freshman Lauren Licciardi.

Mr. Brouder ran all of the fundraisers for Lauren, who suffered from leukemia. He even went to her house to tutor her the night before she died. It was so sad...
